Evian Water Has Been Bottled in This Dreamy Destination for 200 Years
The underrated resort town in the French Alps is all about the water.

I wish I could blame the snow shoes, but they’re light as fresh powder. Ascending the 1,674-meter Pic des Mémises, I’m struggling to keep up with our guide. I think I’m in shape, but Virgile Delamare — neat beard, Uvex sunglasses, lean physique encased in Colmar gear — quickly blazes a trail to the top. An avid skier (former ski patrol), he also leads ice diving excursions (non, merci), and partakes in the annual, 13-kilometer swim across Lake Geneva (only a few brave souls make it). He’s worked at the Evian Resort since 2004, and I imagine he’d breeze through any kind of Iron Man boot camp.
There must be something in the water.
